Delivery Trucks vs. Parcel Vans

Both delivery trucks and parcel vans are classified as light to medium duty, meaning they can have a Given Vehicle Weight (GVW) of up to 26,000 lbs. However, whether or not you decide on a fleet of parcel vans or delivery trucks will depend on your intended use. Both parcel vans and delivery trucks can be outfitted for a variety of jobs. One of the main differences is that parcel vans can include walk through doors from the cab to the cargo box area. Another is that most delivery trucks will come equipped with some sort of slatted interior or E track system to help secure and protect the load, whereas parcel vans usually don’t.

Since they’re essentially the same type of vehicle, a good way to visualize the difference between a delivery truck and parcel van is to picture a furniture moving company’s truck. Parcel vans tend to look more like passenger vans, though they don’t always include rows of seats, and are used more for things like flower delivery.
